 Ben and Jerry's Foundation National Grassroots Grant Program Deadline: Ongoing Through the National Grassroots Grant Program, Ben & Jerry's Foundations supports nonprofit community organizations throughout the United States that bring about progressive social change by addressing the underlying conditions of societal and environmental problems. The broad goals of the program are to further social justice, protect the environment, and support sustainable food systems. Grants of up to $15,000 are provided to grassroots, constituent-led organizations that are using community organizing strategies to accomplish their goals as well as organizations that provide technical support and/or resources to such groups. The Foundation does not make grants to support social service programs. Letters of interest may be submitted at any time.

Best Buy: Teach @15 Award Deadline: Ongoing
The Teach@15 Award program improves classroom learning by helping schools (grades 7-12) meet technology needs. A teen member (age 13-18) who is a registered member on www.at15.com can nominate his/her school to win a Teach@15 Award. Maximum Award: $1,500 in the form of Best Buy Gift Cards. Do you have a commitment to service? Do you go that extra mile for your community and the March of Dimes? Then this is the scholarship for you! The Bonner Foundation awards approximately 1,500 students annually who are actively engaged in community service and demonstrate a history of responsibility and good citizenship. The application process and deadlines are different for each school, so please check with your admissions office for additional resources. 
CNCS September 11th National Day of Service and Rememberance
Deadline: March 13 The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance initiative grants range from approximately $50,000 to $150,000 are made to eligible organizations engaged in service activities that meet vital community needs and honor the sacrifice of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 or who rose in service as a result of that tragedy. Available funds for the grant total approximately $500,000. CNCS expects to invest a significant amount of available funding to programs working on two focus areas -Disaster Services and/or Veterans and Military Families plus Capacity Building. Additionally, CNCS seeks applicants who engage youth, particularly disconnected youth, and where available, veterans and military families in service.

Congressional Awards The Congressional Award is a public private partnership created by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative, and service in America's youth. The Congressional Award provides a unique opportunity for young people to set and achieve personally challenging goals that build character and foster community service, personal development, and citizenship.

Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes Deadline: April 30 The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes invites nominations for its 2012 awards. The Barron Prize, founded by author T.A. Barron in honor of his mother, celebrates outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18. Each year, the Barron Prize honors inspiring young people who have made a significant positive difference to people and our planet. Ten winners each receive $2,500 to support their service work or higher education. 
Home Baking Association's Rewards for Baking Educator Award Each year, the Home Baking Association offers an award to draw national attention to an excellent home-baking education program and the benefits of baking for family, personal and professional development. As long as the baking program reaches 6- to 18-year-old U.S. children, all types of educators who actively teach baking are eligible, including: classroom family and consumer sciences teachers, extension food and nutrition specialists, community after-school program volunteers, home-schooling parents, youth who teach other youth.

Hunter Garner Scholarship Project Yellow Light High school seniors can submit a PSA that conveys the importance of teens developing and embracing safe driving habits, and focuses on not texting while driving. The winner will receive a $2,000 college scholarship.
 ING Unsung Heroes Deadline: April 30 Are you an educator with a class project that is short on funding but long on potential? Do you know a teacher looking for grant dollars? ING Unsung Heroes® could help you turn great ideas into reality for students. For 15 years, and with nearly $3.5 million in awarded grants, ING Unsung Heroes has proven to be an A+ program with educators. Each year, 100 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000. 
MADD Power of You(th) Video Contest Deadline: April 27 The Power of You(th) is the power you hold to prevent some of the 6,000 deaths that result each year from underage drinking. Use your power to make a minute video or less for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and enter it into our contest.The top five finalists will each win an iPad and an all-expense paid trip for themselves and one guardian to Dallas in June 2012 for the Teen Influencer Summit. A Grand Prize Winner will also receive an all-expense paid trip for himself/herself and one guardian to Washington D.C. for MADD's National Conference in September 2012.

President's Volunteer Service Awards As a Certifying Organization of the PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD, Youth Service America distributes the PVSA to those who meet or exceed the award criteria. Established in 2003, the PVSA is given by the President of the United States and honors individuals, families and groups who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service over the course of 12 months.

School Grants for Healthy Kids Deadline: Follow Specific Guidelines Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) will award over 500 schools with grants, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, for the 2012 -2013 school through our School Grants for Healthy Kids program. The grants, designed to help improve school nutrition and provide kids with greater access to healthy foods, are made possible through AFHK’s partnerships with Kellogg's and the Walmart Foundation.

Starbucks Foundation The Starbucks Foundation awards grants to local nonprofit organizations that serve low income, at-risk youth between the ages of 6 and 18. These grants support innovative programs that enhance culture diversity and involve families, schools and neighborhood organizations, particularly in traditionally underserved communities. Grants are concentrated on two areas of interest: the Power of Literacy, which focuses on programs that stimulate personal development and encourage commitment to social equity, justice and environmental awareness through writing, literacy and the promotion of the voices of youth in public forums, and Leaders in Diversity, which focuses on programs that teach the value of societal diversity, with an emphasis on the development of leadership skills to build bridges of understanding between individuals, groups and communities. Preference is given to programs that offer opportunities for Starbucks employees and stores to be involved. Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000.
State Farm Youth Advisory Board Deadline: May 4 The State Farm Youth Advisory Board is currently accepting applications for service-learning projects between $25,000 and $100,000 that are designed to create sustainable change in local communities across the United States and Canada. Applying organizations must be a public K-12, charter, or higher education institution; non-profit organizations are also eligible if they are able to demonstrate how they plan to impact student achievement within the public K-12 curriculum. Projects must address the root cause of the following issue areas: Access to Higher Education / Closing the Achievement Gap; Financial Literacy; Community Safety and Natural Disaster Preparedness; Social Health & Wellness Issues; and Environmental Responsibility. Wofford Awards The Harris Wofford Award, presented by Youth Service America and proudly sponsored by State Farm Companies Foundation, were established in 2002 to honor former Senator Harris Wofford, one of our nation's greatest public servants and long-time board member of Youth Service America. Following Wofford's goal of "making service and service-learning the common expectation and the common experience of every young person on America," the awards recognize extraordinary achievements in four categories: Youth, Organizations, Media, and Public Officials.
